Tourism Development
The history of Jesolo tourism began at the end of the 19th century, when the first bathing establishment was opened at Piazza Marconi. The first hotel was built in 1928, the Hotel Aurora. The beginning of the tourist epic was in the early 1950s, when the first hotels and pensions were built and Jesolo, from a village, began to become an important tourist resort, frequented year after year by tourists from Austria and Germany but also from all over northern Italy. Guests’ appreciation increases year after year and so does their loyalty to a resort that grows in numbers and quality. Jesolo’s development is on various levels: from the water supply network, to the accommodation facilities, to the increase in all public services and communication routes. Nor should we forget the birth and development of companies supporting the entire accommodation sector. Summer after summer, the city has grown in numbers, both in residential and tourist terms, becoming today, with its 6 million presences, one of the reference beaches for Italian and international tourism. In recent times Jesolo has become not only a beach for families but also for entertainment thanks to its international events.
