Equilium in festa – Jesolo 2024
An unmissable experience to celebrate the patron saint
From 15 to 24 June 2024, the historic centre of Jesolo will come alive with Equilium in Festa, an event celebrating the patron saint with a rich calendar of events. This festival is an opportunity to immerse oneself in local culture and experience moments of conviviality, with shows, excursions, and tasty delicacies.
The event starts with the Concert of the Fanfara dei Bersaglieri on 15 June, at 9pm in Piazza I Maggio. This evening inaugurates a period of celebrations that combine religious devotion with entertainment for all ages.
On 20 June, the Cena delle Contrade transforms Piazza I Maggio and Via Cesare Battisti into a meeting place for the community. At 6.30 p.m. activities open with Aribandus, traditional games for families, followed at 7 p.m. by the opening of the food and wine stands, where local specialities can be tasted.
The programme continues on 21 June with ‘La storia de Nane’, a theatrical performance that takes place at 9pm at the archaeological site of the Antiche Mura. This event, accompanied by the double bass of Nelso Salton, offers an immersion into the history and culture of the place.
22 June is dedicated to families with the theatrical performance ‘Nico looks for a friend’, in Piazza I Maggio at 8.45pm, designed to entertain children and others.
On 23 June, nature and adventure lovers can take part in a kayak excursion along the Caìgo canal, departing and arriving at the Agriturismo La Barena at 4pm. In the evening, at 9.30pm, the Stadio Bennati hosts the show ‘In vacanza con Carlo & Giorgio’ (On holiday with Carlo & Giorgio), a ticketed event promising laughter and entertainment.
The climax of the celebrations comes on 24 June, the day of St John the Baptist, Patron Saint of Jesolo. The day begins at 5.30 p.m. with an evocative water parade and the rite of entrustment. This is followed at 6 p.m. by the handicraft market offering the opportunity to buy unique handmade products. At 6.30 p.m., the Solemn Holy Mass is celebrated, a moment of meditation and spirituality.
The evening continues with musical entertainment and food and wine stands in Piazza della Repubblica from 9pm, and at 9.30pm the traditional Palio Remiero delle Contrade takes place. The festival ends on a high note at 10.30 p.m. with a pyromusical show on the Sile river, which promises to leave everyone with their noses in the air.
The food and wine stands of the parish will be open from 7pm to 11pm on 14-15-16 and 21-22-23-24 June, offering everyone the chance to savour the delights of local cuisine.
