Venice Carnival
The Venice Carnival is a unique celebration that transports participants into a world of elegance, mystery and tradition.
With its roots dating back to the 12th century, this fascinating festival continues to capture the imagination of thousands of visitors every year. During this festival, the city comes alive with colour, elaborate costumes and fascinating masks. The calli are filled with an enchanting mixture of sounds, with street musicians, artists and acrobats adding a touch of magic to the unique Carnival setting.
The distinctive symbol of the Venice Carnival are the masks, which conceal the identity of the participants, creating an atmosphere of mystery and intrigue. Masks vary from simple to luxurious, decorated with feathers, beads and gilding. Wearing a mask during Carnival allows everyone to become part of a centuries-old tradition, to enjoy a unique experience and to explore their creativity.
