Sante, streghe e sirene: I mondi di Michelangelo Rossato

The Jesolo Public Library presents, from 23 May to 3 June 2023, an extraordinary exhibition of original illustrations entitled “Sante, streghe e sirene: I mondi di Michelangelo Rossato”.

The inauguration will take place on Tuesday 23 May at 5 p.m., and will be followed by a guided tour of the author, as well as the possibility of obtaining an autograph signature.

In this anthological exhibition, organised in collaboration with the Spinea municipal library, the Jesolo Public Library will present a selection of fascinating pictorial plates created by Michelangelo Rossato for his illustrated works, including “The Tale of Cupid and Psyche” (2022), “Snow White” (2021), “The Heart of Joan of Arc” (2019), “Frida Kahlo in her Azul House” (2019), “The Little Mermaid” (2017), and “Marco Polo. The Journey of Wonders’ (2017), each published by Arka editions.

This exhibition is a unique opportunity to immerse oneself in the imagination of this young author and illustrator, who is also admired abroad in the field of children’s literature.

Michelangelo Rossato has been sharing his passion for storytelling through drawings and words since he was a child, collecting sheets of paper to create his first books. Writing and the art of drawing intertwine as complementary languages, giving life to illustrated books, true works of art that give shape to the stories that inhabit the author. Each book on display is the result of profound research, often dealing with historical, psychological and anthropological themes. The creation of these picture books requires patience, dedication and the desire to create something beautiful for oneself and for others.

Admission to the exhibition is free according to the following opening hours:

  • Monday to Friday: 8:30 a.m.-8:00 p.m.
  • Saturday: 8:30 a.m.-6:00 p.m.
  • The exhibition will be closed on Sundays and public holidays.
